Melinda Sue's Story
Life
During school I was Mindy to many people and Susie to people who knew me through family. I went to Turkey Creek JHS and before that JH Robinson Elem. I remember, Ms. MacDonald at Robinson, Mr. Hart (wow) at TC, and FFA - I lived by the AG Field with my grandparents. Remember the Gobbler Gossip? I was on the school paper for years. I still love to write.
During HS I was in FBLA, Teens for Christ and Student Advisory. I LOVED Audio Visuals and was a volunteer and student Aid in AV.
I used to spend a log of time in St. Pete with my mom and sisters when school was out. I was all set to go to Ohio to Kent State University when I graduated, but I me my husband during the summer and we were married in November of 1980.
Since then, I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, we had three children, then went on to adopt four more. So seven kids later and now two amazing grandchildren, I own a management company, I still write and am writing a novel. My husband and I are very involved in ministry work and we work with disabled children, I work with a crisis pregna...Expand for more
ncy organization and we are hoping to open an animal therapy organization for disabled children in 2009. My business is expanding into Washington State and we plan to move there in summer 2008 and once we've purchased land and horses (plus other farm animals) the animal therapy organization should be up and running.
I have a wonderful family, love the things I've accomplished - but I really didn't do the things I planned to do. I would only change a couple of things - I'd have taken time more seriously, my grandmother died in 1983 and I wish I'd spent more time with her, then, I wish I'd kept track of my friends. My very best friend and I promised on graduation day that we'd never lose track of one another - and that was the last time I saw her.
I plan to be in central Florida for an industry function next May (2008) and I plan to visit the area, any of you around - maybe we could meet up. I know that no matter how far away we travel, there's no place like home!
